Alfasi, Isaac ben Jacob
(1013, cerca de Fez, Marruecos–1103, Lucena, España).

Eminente talmudista judío marroquí. Pasó la mayor parte de su vida en Fez, pero en 1088 fue denunciado ante el gobierno y se vio obligado a huir a España. Se convirtió en el jefe de la comunidad judía en Lucena y fundó una respetada academia talmúdica, que impulsó el renacimiento de los estudios talmúdicos en España. Su codificación del Talmud Séfer ha-Halakhot [Libro de leyes], trata de la Halaká (ley hebrea) y se ubica a la altura de las obras de Maimónides y Karo. Alfasi fue decisivo en el establecimiento de la primacía del Talmud babilónico sobre el Talmud palestino.
